The Temptations & Four Tops in Concert
|
Details: It’s definitely not ”The same old song” when you join US! We’ll start out meeting for dinner at a nearby restaurant to socialize before heading to the concert. R&B legends the Temptations have been churning out hit after hit since 1961. With nearly 50 albums over the years, the Temptations have an almost endless list of hits. Fans can hope to hear favorites like "Get Ready," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," "My Girl," "Cloud Nine," "Just My Imagination" “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” "Treat Her Like A Lady," "I Can’t Get Next To You," and "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." Another Motown favorite, the Four Tops have put out a Top 100 hit song almost every year from 1964 to 1988. Members of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, the Four Tops have earned their spot in American music history with songs like "Baby I Need Your Loving," "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" and "Ain't No Woman Like the One I've Got," that are still getting radio play today. 2010 will mark the 25th anniversary Sandy Springs Festival, which has grown from a small picnic-type gathering to a traditional community event. The community involvement has grown drastically over the years, and the anticipation of the 2-day event creates a strong sense of community and tradition. We thrive on that fact that we have something for everyone: 10K/5K Races, Children’s Park, Teen Territory, Business & Civic Expo, Food Court, Artist’s Market featuring fine arts and crafts, Silent Auction, Heritage Crafters, Pet Parade, Georgia Made Georgia Grown Market, GA CHIP Program, Collector Car Show and live entertainment.
The Sandy Springs Festival is the major fundraiser event for Heritage Sandy Springs. The money raised from the Festival helps Heritage Sandy Springs present educational programs, such as the Heritage Gardening Series, Veterans Day Salute, and other community events, such as Concerts by the Springs, Ghostly Gathering – children’s Halloween event, and Light the Lights.
Sandy Springs Festival takes place in the heart of the city at Heritage Green. The park is located off Sandy Springs Circle between Hilderbrand Drive and CityWalk. Sandy Springs Circle will be closed to through traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, September 24 through 9:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26.
